Welcome !

The 2nd International Conference on Polyol Mediated Synthesis will be held in Hikone, Japan on July 11-13, 2016.

The First International Conference on Polyol Mediated Synthesis (1st IC-PMS2014) held in Universite Diderot, Paris, France, June 22-25, 2014 was successfully organized to provide a unique opportunity for discussing the leading – edge research and progress in the field of Polyol mediated Science and Technology. In this conference, we had over 80 participants from14 countries of origin.

In the 2nd IC-PMS we plan to bring the pioneer researchers in the field of polyol/alcohol synthesis around the world and also researchers in the field of nanomaterial synthesis to appreciate and share the potential and the progress made in the recent past. And also, set the future targets to make polyol process “the process” for nanomaterial synthesis.

The conference will cover topics on (a) Synthesis of Nanomaterials using polyols/alcohols reduction technique, (b) Synthesize nanoparticles/wires using polyol/alcohol, (c) Control of morphology through controlled nucleation & growth in polyol/alcohol mediated synthesis, (d) real-time monitoring nanoparticle growth in polyol synthesis with in-situ techniques (for example, synchrotron x-ray scattering, spectroscopy, etc.) (e) multi-compositional, multi-functional hybrid nanomaterials synthesized through polyol process, (e) Properties (magnetic, optical, catalytic …) of polyol/alcohol mediated nanomaterials, (f) Application of nanomaterials synthesized using polyol/alcohol mediated techniques in engineering & bio-medical applications.

The Conference will have plenary lectures from prominent researchers in the field of “Nanomaterial Synthesis” using “Polyol” by Professor Fernand Fievet (FRANCE) and “Alcohol” by Professor Naoki Toshima (JAPAN). And also, Invited Talks are scheduled from Japanese, U.S, Germany, France researchers who have been contributing to the synthesis and application of nanomaterials using polyol process.

In addition to the Scientific Sessions, the Conference will offer Tutorial Lectures by Researchers from JEOL and RIGAKU and three Poster Sessions with enough time for professional discussions.

Last but not least, best poster prizes will be awarded by IC-PMS and social program, including a typical Japanese Dinner, will be organized in the vicinity of the “Hikone Castle”, the historic and cultural monument of Hikone City.

We are looking forward to welcoming you and wish you an enjoyable stay in Hikone, Japan!!
