The Shiga Prefecture University

The Shiga Prefecture University is a small University teaching more than 2,800 students and located on the shores of Lake Biwa in the cultural Hikone City, which is located in the middle of two big Cultural cities, KYOTO and NAGOYA. This university has Engineering, Environmental Science, Human Cultures and Human Nursing schools with 1 to 5 departments.

The School of Engineering focuses on Materials Science, Mechanical Systems Engineering, and Electronic Systems Engineering, which are indispensable for the development innovative products. Especially, the Department of Materials Science covers organic and inorganic materials.
